Our cousins, from Capetown, South Africa, ended their vacation travels with us in the Big Apple. David was here with me, briefly, in 1976 (when he was 17,) but his wife Jacqui had never experienced the magic of New York City. Michelle came down to join us for a few days and, because she knows the City so well, pointed David and Jacqui to many of the must- see sights. Michael and I joined in for most, but not all the exploring. They wanted to do much of it on their own as they had in the other countries they’d visited. We laughed a lot, shared old memories of our dear Aunt Lilian and Uncle Harold, and shared our thoughts and feelings in general. David and Jacqui are close family we don’t see often enough…it was a joy to be with them. We even snuck in a Broadway show…THE GREAT GATSBY…and a July 4th Fireworks celebration! I can definitely say A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL and both Michael and I are looking forward to spending more time with them in South Africa in the near future!!
